From: DCC in Charge Copy of information from City Police London Amended Description Wanted in this City Charged on Warrant for Forgery and Fraud, John Hervey Redgrave, late of 53 Regent House, Regent Street, W and St Olafs, Gloucester Road, New Barnet, Herts, age 32 looks older, 5ft 10 or 11, complexion fair or fresh, hair dark, small brown moustache, heavy fleshy jaw, good teeth, stout and well built, face narrow at forehead, wears pince-nez, and collar size 18, boots size 8 or 9, measures 47 ins round waist and 44 ins round chest, well-kept hands, weighs 16 or 17 stone, of gentlemanly appearance and address. Escaped from custody on 18th ult., and is supposed to have in his possession 10 £100 Bank of England notes, No. 20922, 89602 & 88701 to 8 dated 27 Feby. 1901, 2 £50 notes No. 02162 & 3 dated 26 Feby. 1901, and 4 £5 notes No. 31547 to 31550 dated 21 Feby. 1901. Will probably endeavour to leave the country. May be accompanied by a man aged 26 to 32, 5ft 6 or 7, pale complexion, small ginger moustache, otherwise clean shaven, rather long face, slim build.
