A dark bay gelding, 5 years, 14 hands 1 or 2 in., black points, short main & tail, good condition, rough coat, a lump on off side of nostril, large sheath, shoes very much worn, bridle & saddle and stirrups rusty. The above was in possession of a man of the following description who stated he came from Norwich – aged about 35 years, 5 ft 6 inches, fresh complexion, clean shaven, brown clothes, brown hat, collar, no neck tie. This man was at Stansted about 3 pm, stated he was told at a Public House at Ivenden that Haggerwood of Stansted would be likely to buy the horse. The horse was supposed to be worth about £30. Haggerwood offered £15. The man stated it cost him more than that. Haggerwood would have given hm £25 if he had though the horse had not been stolen and he is sure he might have bought the horse for £17 but he was afraid.
