From DCC To All Stations James Loveray, a Gipsy, wanted on a warrant under Poaching Prevention Act on 11 Sept 1894, escaped from the custody of PC 56 Francis this day whilst being conveyed from London to Baldock. Age 38 to 40, 5ft 8 or 9, complexion fair, hair light brown, thin build, has several scratches on nose and face. Dress light fustian clothes, no hat, boots or stockings, having pulled them off when he escaped. He has a wife and three children in a small van drawn by a black pony with a white ear or mark on forehead. Went in the direction of Walkern when he escaped.Police officer
