Absconded on Tuesday 15th October 1901 from Tiffield Reformatory, Northamptonshire (Towcester Division), William Manning, age 17½ years, height about 5 ft 2in, thick-set and broad, complexion pale, hair brown, eyes grey. Dress corduroy trousers& vest, dark blue cloth coat cut short like a pag[e] boy, brass buttons marked with beehive and name of school, fawn-coloured socks marked with a number on linen, and check shirt. Mark on left fore-arm ‘Parish & County, Kingsley Park, Northampton’. He was sentenced at market Harboro in December 1898. 10s/= reward for capture. Information to be sent to Mr. Wm. McColl, Superintendent, Tiffield Reformatory.Police officer
