From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Superintendent Hassell to All Stations – Copy of information from Luton Boro. Stolen between 11 p.m. last night and 6 a.m. this morning one gents single breasted smooth overcoat velvet collar chain tab flap pocket one outside breast pocket without flap believed makers name on collar ‘Hope Bros. London’, one pair of gents brown kid gloves, black bowler hat size 6 7/8, a lady’s silver plated metal watch about 8/- in bronze and 11/6 in silver, also a quantity of cigar and Woodbine cigarettes, these were taken from a public house, a quantity of beer & spirit being consumed, suppose by three men who will probably be in a drunken condition.
