From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Superintendent Hassell to All Stations – Stolen from The Shrubbery at Harpenden property of Mrs. Little between 9 p.m. 17th Inst and 8.15 a.m. 18th Inst 12 fowls, one black Orpington Cockerel one half bred Indian Game cockerel, one white hen black spots & 9 others mixed breed, also stolen from a meadow at Harpenden the property of John Law between 12 noon and 8 p.m. 17th Inst one black cockerel, 2 Buff Orpington hens and 7 other hens mixed breed.
