From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Deputy Chief Constable to All Stations – Stolen by means of housebreaking at No. 7 Bethels Park Hitchin between 6 & 8 last evening, a brown wooden workbox containing papers, two loaves of bread, one pound of cheese, part of a pound of sausages, half pound of butter & a tin Biscuit box containing tea, property of Mrs. Brown, entrance effected by breaking pane of glass in window, supposed by tramps.
