From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Superintendent Foster to All Stations – Stolen from a lodging house at Welwyn this morning between 7.45 & 8.45 one pair of brown boots nearly new, one pair of Bakers white linen overalls, by a man who gave the name of Percy Taylor, a tramp, a sail maker, age 21, 5ft 4, dark hair, slight dark moustache, dress in a dark blue serge suit, old trousers much worn at bottom, blue serge cap, wearing stolen boots which are now blacked, in company with a man who gave the name Henry Broughton, 43, wearing Pilot jacket, coloured trousers and heavy lace boots.
