Attempted Burglary - St Peters
From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Superintendent Hassell to All Stations – During the night of the 1st Inst The Fiddle P.H. St. Peters was burgulariously entered by cutting out glass of window and pushing back catch, the till was opened but owing there being an electric bell the thief made off, nothing appears to have been taken description of three men suspected who were in and out of the house the greater part of the day, 1st age 27, 5 ft 8 or 9, wearing dark brown Newmarket overcoat, hard felt hat and fair moustache, 2nd age 22 to 25, 5 ft 6 or 7, pale complexion, clean shaven, wearing dark jacket, dark Trilby hat, dark muffler round neck, 3rd age 16 or 17, 5 ft 1 or 2, wearing dark coat, white muffler, had two scratches under left eye.
