A New Horse For The Chief Constable? - Gilston
From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Colonel Daniell to J. Webb Esq. – I am sorry to say I find it impossible to get over to Gilston or Bishops Stortford this week, at the same time I very much want the chestnut horse, I am therefore directing the Constable Groom at Bishops Stortford to bring the horse over here tomorrow. I will see him and ride him and will then go up on Wednesday to see Mr. Spencer at 4 Curzon Street. Please see that the horse has kneecaps on him and finally tell me Mr. Spencer’s christian name and initials so that I can write t him. I will let you know what day next week I can come to Gilston.
