Missing Luggage And Escape By Horse And Cart - Royston
From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Deputy Chief Constable Herts to Police Cambridge (Boro) – There has been a large trunk and a great number of other things are missing from the Great Northern Railway (recovered), a girl was traced to Royston (whose name is supposed to be Miss Coleby 1 Panton Street Cambridge which was found on a piece of paper in a purse which was left behind) and left there with a hired pony and cart, pie bald pony, going in the direction of Cambridge, description of girl age about 25, 5 ft 4, dressed in red and blue skirt, black body with white lace, black hat large feathers in front, three quarter jacket full sleeves, if found arrest and wire.
