From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Superintendent Duke to All Stations – Stolen from a shed at the Old White Swan Gardens Thundridge between 1.30 p.m. 16th Inst & 8 a.m. 17th Inst one buff Orpington cockerel and eight cross bred pullets of various colours value 3/- each, property of Robert Huggonson Old Lodge Thundridge, entrance effected by forcing padlock.
Also lost on 9th Inst between Wormley & Broxbourne a plain black cloak property of Lady Veel.
