From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Superintendent Hassell to All Stations – Stolen by means of burglary during the night of 28th a large silver chronometer watch, very old, had been gilded but nearly worn off, opens easily at back, very old gold hunting watch rather large plain face no minute hand elaborately engraved cap covering works, small silver oblong casket about 4 inches long with enamel on lid, gold etui with spring catch about 5 inches long, about 30 gold coins, very valuable small medallion very old with portrait of Brutus crystal border with handle, enamel metal necklace of [unreadable Ed.] with gold chain connecting them ormolu settings, two Cameo brooches with male headsĀ ormolu settings, two small cameo as Butterfly’s ormolu settings, cameo of the Three Graces, two gold handles of walking sticks, 3 gold shirt studs set with pearls, silver chain waist belt with figure and inscription inside very faint, silver gilt fern basket 4 inches high with handle on top the property of the Right Honourable The Earl of Verulamium Gorhambury.
