From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Superintendent Hassell to All Stations – Copy of Information from Chief Constable Smith St. Albans City. Stolen from the dwelling house of Mrs. Woodman Granville Road, St. Albans this morning one pair navy blue trousers with braces attached, by a man who lodged in the house on the 19th & 20th Inst and stated he was an Advertisement Agent for Mackenzie Biscuit Makers, Glasgow, age about 25, height 5 ft 3 or 4, complexion fair, hair & moustache inclined to be ginger, several top teeth missing, speaks with a Scotch accent. Dress a dark grey jacket suit & cap, white front coloured Oxford shirt, please cause enquiries to be made and if found arrest & wire me, Warrant not issued.
