From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Deputy Chief Constable to All Stations – Found straying on 25th Inst & now shut up at Royston Police Station a black curly coated Retriever dog, aged, leather collar no name, also lost in Baldock this day a brown & fawn scotch Collie dog, answers to the name of Ben, the property of James Raban, Sun Street, Baldock, also lost between Dane End, Little Munden & Watton on 24 Inst property of Walter Scowen, Watton Mill a leather purse containing 6 or 7 half sovereigns, 1 3penny piece, one P.O. for 20/-, slip of paper with an address at Catford, 10/- Reward offered.
