From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Chief Constable to A, B & F Divisions – Copy of letter G.E.R. Police Officer Liverpool Street Station. 22 August 1903. To Chief Constable. Pardon me troubling you but I think it right to advise you four of our stations in Essex and Cambridge have recently [been] entered by thieves at night namely Rayne on 1st, Ongar 3rd, Dunmow 16th and Linton 28th from which money and other articles have been stolen the particulars of which have been possibly brought to your notice. May I ask you to cause special attention to be paid to our stations in your district with a view to catching the thief or thieves.
