From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Superintendent Frogley to All Stations – Wanted for stealing a lady’s silver Geneva watch no. 62456, chased back, black spot on dial, maker Harin Bishopgate Street London, also a metal chain with a bronze cross attached, “Saint Pauls Guild 1892” on one side, value £2, the property of May Hargrave of High Street, Berkhamsted, a man aged 27 to 30, 5 ft 8 or 9, complexion, hair and moustache dark, light navy blue suit and cap, white muffler with silver horseshoe pin, black lace up boots, Military appearance. This man lodged at the house on night of 23rd Inst and left at 6 a.m. on 24th Inst, stated he was an Army Reserve man.
