From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Superintendent Duke to Police Cambridge – A large white motor car containing four men has passed through Hoddesdon and Ware travelling at a furious rate, the Police at both places tried to stop it but they drove straight at them and so got away, will you please have enquiries made at Cambridge ascertain if possible the drivers name and address. If necessary I will send an Officer to Cambridge to identify them, they passed Ware at 12.55 p.m.
