Entrance effected by forcing Post Office door with a plough coulter, supposed by a tramp who was seen at Dane End at 5.30 p.m. last evening, age about 25, 5 ft 6 or 7, complexion fair, light moustache otherwise clean shaven, dressed in dark jacket & vest, light blue trousers right side torn, very old lace up boots, light brown cap, left behind a box of Bryant and Mays matches and anĀ old light brown pair of socks. Was seen in Bengeo at 8 a.m. this da going in the direction of Hertford, he appeared to be slightly Bumble footed, please cause enquiries etc.
Telephoned to Sawbridgeworth and posted to Hadham and Albury.
