2 Horses Stolen - Waltham Abbey
From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Chief Constable to All Divisions – Copy of information. Stolen from a field at Waltham Abbey during the night of 13th Inst, 2 horses, 1st a black horse, aged [missing Ed.], 16 hands, white star and streak down face, long mane and tail, lame near fore leg, hind heels white, in good condition,, 2nd a red roan mare, aged 12, 14 1/2 hands, walks badly in front, long mane and tail, shod all round, in good condition, by two men, 1st age about 30, 5 ft 8 tall, thin face, dress light coat plaid coat, 2nd age about 28, 5 ft 8, complexion dark, dress dark coat and cap, both have the appearance of horse copers [a dishonest horse dealer Ed.] and can be identified. Information to Acting Superintendent Pearce, Stoke Newington.
