Abandoned Pony And Trap Hitchin
From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Deputy Chief Constable to All Stations – On 22nd November at 6.30 p.m. a pony and trap and harness was left at The Cock Hotel, Hitchin for 2 hours and has not yet been claimed, description black pony aged, 13 hands, clipped all over except legs which have curly hair upon them, in fair condition, appears to have travelled a long distance, Harris Rush collar patched with leather, brass harness, brass mounted harness, black W.J. on blinkers and pad, nearly a new ring but in good condition, old two wheel trap painted dirty black, enamel lamps, Harris Rush [unreadable Ed.] Road, Wood Green on wheel caps, contains 2 rugs and a whip, a man aged about 30 5 ft 9 or 10, wearing a cap and long overcoat, accompanied by a little girl.
