From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Inspector Hassell to All Stations – Stolen from a shed near the Midland Railway bridge London Road St Albans between 6,30 p.m. 11th and 6 a.m. 12th Inst one black ebony [name of tool missing Ed.] with brass fittings about 8 inches long, one bradawl, one inch chisel, one brace and bits, one level about 7 inches long, 2 brick trowels about 11 inches long, entrance effected by breaking a lock off shed, please cause enquiries to be made.
