From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...Superintendent Duke sent a message to all Stations concerning a missing man from Mill End Standon. William Henry Reed age 25 years, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches, fair complexion, hair and moustache, eyes blue, dress black jacket and vest grey trousers, white collar grey tie, flannelette shirt, yellow socks white stripes, peak cap, patent leather button boots, has a bank book in his possession, this man is of unsound mind and was to have been taken to the Three Counties Asylum today 18th Inst, please cause enquiries to beĀ made to trace his whereabouts and any information to be communicated with Supt. of Police Duke.
