Jeff Cargill

Jeff has been the Archives Conservator at HALS since 2007. He started his career at the National Library of Wales and has since worked at Cheshire and Buckinghamshire Record Offices and was a visiting lecturer at Camberwell for three years. He has given talks, lectures and tutorials all over the UK. An active member of the profession, Jeff has been on the Executive Committee of the Institute of Paper Conservators (now ICON) and the Preservation and Conservation Group Committee of the Archives and Records Association (UK & Ireland) and is an Instructor for the ARA Conservation Training Course.

Maggie Dines

Maggie started volunteering at HALS two years ago and found the work so interesting that she enrolled on a conservation course at University of the Arts, Camberwell. Maggie gained her Post Graduate Diploma in 2011 and is now furthering her studies at Camberwell on the MA course. Before coming to HALS Maggie had a variety of jobs including teaching ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages), furniture making and working in a Post Office.

Katie Morley

Katie joined HALS as a volunteer in 2010 and discovered an aptitude for archive conservation and a love of bookbinding. Among other activities she has conserved patient records as part of the “Out of Sight, Out of Mind” project and bound books for the Local Studies Library. Currently studying bookbinding at “City Lit” (City Literary Institute) in London, Katie is aiming to enrol on the MA course at Camberwell and specialise in book conservation.
