The Chief Constable of Essex Constabulary circulated details of a car owned by a wanted man, Franz Verbist, with a request to locate the vehicle and hopefully the man.

PS Bavister received a telephone message concerning a report of a fire at Parsonage Farm Great Hormead and with PC 64 Mapley and PC 10 Elkins cycled to the farm. Buntingford Fire Brigade attended.
24 May 1915
The body of an unknown man was found on the Great Eastern Railway line between Standon and Hadham. Despite extensive enquiries he was not identified. His description and photograph were circulated. The verdict of the Inquest was found dead.

PS Bavister spotted a fire in the distance and with other officers went to Anstey where he found 2 wheat stacks on fire.
21 Nov 1915
A large balloon was recovered and was found to have foreign newspapers attached to it. The balloon and newspapers were forwarded to the War Office.
24 Oct 1915
Walter James Keene absconded from the Buntingford Inebriates Home causing the warrant to be issued. His details were circulated and a week later he was detained in Brighton.
