William Prior of Hadham Ash was found laying in the road drunk. When helped to his feet, he became disorderly and began using very bad language. He was subsequently taken home.

(Incident continued from previous page) While trying to get them to leave the premises, the officer was assaulted by Arthur White, John Watts and Henry Marfleet. A man named John Swallow came to the officer’s assistance but couldn’t prevent them from attacking him.
