Details were circulated of two violent incidents. Firstly a revolver was fired at a Hitchin Constable when he tried to stop a motorcyclist in Highbury Road, fortunately they missed the Officer and the offender escaped. Secondly a Railway Signalman was attacked and left unconscious by two men armed with a knife at Northchurch.
