In Charge, Watford To: All Stations Stolen by means of burglary during night of 1st inst. from 41 Harwood Road, Watford, the property of Henry William Turner: 1 sovereign; 9s/= in coppers, all 1902, and 5s/= in silver; also 20 penny packets of Woodbines cigarettes. Entrance effected by forcing window with a platelayer’s chisel, left behind. This chisel is marked L.N.W.R.82 and appears to have been stolen from a hut on the Rickmansworth Branch on L. & N.W. Railway. A hammer marked 82 is also missing from this shed, may have been stolen by tramps. Thieves in custody. Hammer recovered. 8.40 5.9.02.Police officer
