Wood Stolen from the house of Mr Courtenay, 95 Gladstone Road, Watford about 12 noon on 1st inst., 1 sovereign, 2 half crowns, and 9 shillings, by a man of the following description who went there for lodgings and represented that he was employed at Lipton’s provision merchants, Watford (false): age 25, 5ft 5, complexion sallow, thin face, hair light brown, clean shaven, dress black coat and vest, dark brown trousers, dark cap, grey or white flannel cricket shirt, dark tie. Please cause enquiries to be made.Police officer
