From: Supt. Shore To: All Stations Wanted on warrant for obtaining £1.16.0 by false pretences at Hertford on 2nd May, a man age 40 to 50 years, 5ft 10ins, heavy dark moustache, hair dark turning grey, complexion fresh, full face, stout build, walked lame on left leg as if he had a stiff or corked leg, dark overcoat velvet collar, dark suit, black hard felt hat. His modus operandi is to call on Publicans, confectioners & others, and persuade them to buy Egeinic [?] cigarettes and he appoints them as sole agent, making a promise of a salary and commission besides advertising their respective business, obtains their money for the cigarettes, and nothing more is heard of him. Please cause enquiries to be made etc.Police officer
