A wrong impression of police efficiency
Hertfordshire Mercury, 27th March 1931
Baldock Police Court
Before Messrs J Booth (in the chair), A. E. Pedley and A.C. Morgan.
A Wrong Impression
The Chief Constable for Herts, Mr G. Knight, and the Deputy Chief Constable, Supt C. Randall, were present.
Mr Booth said : ” Before we commence with the ordinary business of the Court , I want to make a reference to the statement I made at Hitchin with regard to the Police. ” In cross-examination , I made a statement about the inefficiency of the Police, and it seems to have created a wrong impression. The inefficiency I referred to dates back into past history really . I wanted to say distinctly that I meant no reflection at all on the efficiency of the police of the present day . ”
