The Quarter's Crime Statistics

Transcript
The Standing Joint Committee reported that they had recieved from the Chief Constable a return of crime for the quarter ended 9th December, 1905.
It gave a total of 677 persons apprehended and summoned, of whom 22 were committed for trial, 560 summarily convicted and 85 discharged.
In comparison with the corresponding quarter of last year there was a decrease of 35 persons apprehended and summoned.
During the quarter 73 males and 11 females were proceeded against for drunkeness, of whom 70 males and 11 females were convicted and 3 males discharged; as against 76 males and 15 females in the corresponding quarter of last year of whom 76 males and 15 females were convicted.
7 holders of licences were proceeded against for offences under the Licensing Acts, which resulted in 3 convictions and 4 dismissals; as against 5 holders of licenses in the corresonding quarter of last year, of whom 3 were convicted and 2 discharged.
76 felonies were reported to the Divisional Officers. Of these 49 were detected and 27 remain under investigation.
