Police continue to be efficient - Funding approved in light of performance in 1899

Transcript
The Secretary of State has certified that the county police had been maintained in a state of efficiency in terms of numbers and efficiency for the twelve months ending 29 September 1899. The County Council’s Finance and General Purposes Committee therefore recommended that £8,333 0s 10d be transferred to the police fund account, which represented half the cost of pay and clothing for the force.
A similar certificate had been received for the police of the City of St Albans and a payment of £630 4s 4d was authorised.
