At Ware Petty Sessions on Tuesday John Saunders (45), of 29 Kibes Lane, Ware, was summoned for using bad language on September 12.  He pleaded not guilty.  P.c. Edwards said that on the date in question about 12.30 a.m. he was in Kibes Lane when he heard the defendant using filthy language.  The defendant was indoors and the witness asked him to desist, but he replied: ‘I shan’t.’  The witness handed to the Bench a written sample of the language used, which was shown to the defendant, who remarked: ‘Oh dear, oh dear, I don’t believe I said such a thing.’  Supt Handley said the defendant was convicted for using bad language as recently as July this year.  Fined 4s..
