At Hertford Borough Sessions on Thursday, Louisa Seymour, of Little Berkhamstead, was summoned for using abusive and threatening behaviour on 12th July.

Police Constable Powell said that he had been in Pegs Lane at about 1:15am on the date named when the defendant had been using very abusive language, and some people had made complaints about it, saying that they could not get any sleep.  When he had spoken to her, she had become more abusive than ever.

Arthur Thomas Tarsley, of 17 Pegs Lane, also gave evidence.

Superintendent Pear said that several complaints had been received regarding the defendant’s conduct.

The Bench fined her 5 shillings, or 7 days.
