Special Constables

Hertfordshire Mercury, 26th June 1915

Transcript

The Special Constables of Hatfield had a special parade at the Brewery on Monday evening, under their chief, Sir William Lessee.  The parade was called for the purpose of receiving instructions, and of allotting to the several sections their positions in case of an air raid.  The instructions were ably detailed by Sir William, who afterwards inspected the men, and then they were marched off to their ‘patrols’ by the section leaders.
