Transcript

At Hertford Borough Sessions, William H. Hopkins, 63 Railway Street, was summoned for obstructing the police whilst in the execution of their duty on July 10.  He pleaded guilty.  P.S. Palmer said that on Saturday about 7.15 p.m. he was on duty at a recruiting meeting in Hertford, when his attention was called to the defendant, who was creating a disturbance.  The witness and P.C. Crisford spoke to him, but he persisted in interfering with them, and they had to take him away.  The defendant was ordered to pay 2s. 6d. towards the costs.
