Knebworth & Codicote Parish Registers

In 1740, Mary and William Woodland were murdered at Winter Green, and were buried at Knebworth on 4th October 1740.  The Offender, Richard Pilgrim was hanged on the 22nd March 1741 and subsequently hung in chains at Rabley Heath.

Richard, the son of Joseph Pilgrim was according to the Codicote Parish Register baptised on 2nd July 1707, married in 1729 and hanged on the 22nd March 1741.
