At Hertford County Sessions, George Wilson Warren, of 48 Hertingfordbury Road, Hertford, was summoned for driving a motor-cycle without a light, at Essendon, on 15th July. He did not appear but sent a letter to the Bench in which he explained that his lamp had run out of water.
Police Constable Corney proved the case, and the defendant was fined 2 shillings and costs.
