No Light : Herbert Trevail, of Knebworth, was charged with driving a cart without a light at Woolmer Green, on February 11th. The case was proved by P.C. Compton, Welwyn, and the defendant said that when he started for home he thought he had enough candle in his lamp to last him until he got home, but it went out just before he met the Constable. Immediately afterwards he called at a house and got a candle. The Bench ordered him to pay the costs, 4 shillings.
