A sleepy driver

Transcript

Henry Walker, of Little Hadham, was summoned at Cheshunt Petty Sessions for not having proper control of a horse and van in Cheshunt on March 12.  The defendant pleaded guilty.  P.C. Watts said that he found the prisoner  sound asleep in the bottom of a van just after midnight.  The horse drawing the van narrowly escaped collision with a tram.  Station Sergt. Feake said the defendant was a danger on the road.  Since the report of the present case the defendant had been pulled up three times and found asleep in the van.  Fined 13s. 6d. or 10 days.
